£10,000 Prize Draw Attracts The Punters
At the halfway stage of the selling of Fife Curling Trust's Grand Prize Draw Tickets (First Prize £10,000), local curling clubs and members have raised over £21,000 in ticket sales since the launch in May.
There remains 3 months to purchase tickets for the draw, which will take place at a Fundraising Gala Dinner on Fri 4th December at Elmwood College.
Local Curling Club members have attended events throughout the summer in their local communities to sell tickets and increase exposure for the sport and their clubs. This strategy has been very successful with some clubs raising four figure sums in ticket sales so far. Cupar Curling Club has had notable success, with average ticket sales of £120 by EACH member!
With the onset of the new season approaching at the end of this month, it is hoped that many more tickets can be sold before December when the lucky winner takes home the cheque for £10,000 and the runners up fly off on their free family holiday.

Clubs Forge Ahead With Fundraising
Curling Clubs have taken on the fundraising activities for the proposed new Cupar Rink with enthusiasm.
Each club was given an allocation of Grand Prize Draw tickets to sell and there has been many innovative ideas by clubs on how to sell their allocation. Many are choosing to attend local events and galas by manning a stall selling the tickets.
This has proved successful with one unforeseen spin off in that this is also raising the club's profile in their local community and clubs are signing up prospective new members as a direct result. An example of this was Markinch CC who attended their local Highland games and not only sold nearly £400 of tickets but garnered 16 prospective new members - what a result !
Falkland CC recently had a successful day at their local Fete and Cupar CC also had a good day in the home of the new rink in Duffus Park at Cupar Highland games.
Many other clubs plan to be attending local events, so please get along and give them your support.

Fife Curling Centre Site Revealed
Fife Curling Centre Site Revealed
Fife Curling Trust (FCT) have revealed their plans for a new 4 sheet Curling Rink situated in Duffus Park, Cupar.
Significantly, the FCT have forged a partnership with Cupar Cricket Club (CCC), who will share the facility in the summer months and will use the building for changing, clubhouse & storage facilities. This will give the rink year round activity and revenue. It is felt by both partners that their respective sports will benefit greatly from having such a central new facility in such a fabulous location.
The rink will be directly adjacent to both Elmwood College and Bell Baxter High School, with youth development being a main objective of both the FCT and CCC. Both organisations plan to take coaching into the college and schools to expand participation among the younger age groups.
Timescales have been announced, with a SportScotland application due to be lodged in May09 with a detailed planning application put forward in June09. All going well construction should begin spring 2010 with the opening of the facility in Sept 2010.
The FCT have now mailed a prospectus to curlers in Fife and the hard work now has to begin in earnest for the curlers and clubs to raise their allocation of funding - £250,000.
It is now in the hands of the local curlers and community to provide a future in Fife for this great traditional Scottish sport for the next 50 years. They have a once in a lifetime opportunity to provide the generations that follow the same chance to participate in this great game that they have enjoyed throughout the years.
Please open this Prospectus download for more details.
DO NOT MISS THE OPPORTUNITY - PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY. (see fundraising page)
